  1. EGAROIDS, as written by Designer Software, provides you with 3 ships to start
  2. each game.  If you want to play with only 1 ship (for more of a challenge),
  3. or you want to play with thousands of ships (to give you lots of practice
  4. in plenty of asteroids), this is the patch for you.
  5.  
  6. This patch is designed to work only with version 1.0c (03/03/87) of
  7. EGAROIDS.  To make copies of EGAROIDS with the changes noted above,
  8. put EGAROIDS.EXE into a directory with MAKEM.BAT and BCHANGE.EXE,
  9. then type
  10.     MAKEM
  11. at the DOS prompt.  BCHANGE (a general-purpose file search and alter utility)
  12. will make new copies of the program, named as follows:
  13.     EGA1ROID.EXE    Supplies you with only 1 ship at the beginning.
  14.     EGAROID!.EXE    Gives you thousands of ships.
  15.  
  16. If the patch doesn't work on your copy of EGAROIDS, you probably don't have
  17. the version listed above.  This patch is valid ONLY for that version.

  19. A couple of things should probably be said:
  20.     1)  Designer Software is not responsible for this patch, which is being
  21.         contributed by a user.  I am not affiliated with Designer Software
  22.         in any way.
  23.     2)  Designer Software, the company that issued EGAROIDS as shareware,
  24.         did a great job on this program.  It's clean, high-performance
  25.         software that deserves support.  Send them the registration fee.
